Welcome! Rules and FAQs

 Welcome to ArtisticAnimals! This is a club for any artist with a passion for animals, whether you are just a beginner, or a professional. We strive to help our members by exposing them to the art community, and of course, a community with common interests. So come and join! Have fun, meet some new friends, and get some constructive critiques on your work by your fellow artists.

Please be sure to read the following post carefully, as it contains criteria for what is and is not acceptable in this group, along with other general information :)

Joining

Who is allowed to join ArtisticAnimals?

Everyone! Whether you want to submit your deviations, or just enjoy the work that is accepted here, everyone is welcome. You can join by going to the top of the page and clicking the button that says "Join Group".

Submissions

I want to submit my deviations, how can I do that?

It’s simple! You must be a member to submit. Go to the top of the page and click "Suggest Fave". Pick a deviation from you gallery and submit! The current submission limit is 5 deviations a week. This is subject to change every once in awhile, and members will be notified by a blog entry.

Why can't I submit to the gallery?

The gallery is reserved for Deviations of the Month and Gallery Admin picks. Instead, you can submit to the favorites.

Quality Control

Now some of you may be asking, what kind of work is accepted here, and what quality of work are you looking for?

We accept almost all forms of art here. We like to strive for a certain amount of realism, but are open to almost everything.

Be sure that the work that you submit is your best quality, because we will decline submissions that don’t meet our standards. While we do accept submissions from artists of all levels, this does NOT mean that we don’t have quality standards. Here’s a general list of do’s and don’ts:
:bulletred: No selective coloring/unnatural coloring (extreme saturated colors/hues)
:bulletred: Animals must be clearly visible, too much background makes for a distracting picture.
:bulletred: No humans as the main focus/equal focus with the animal. The animal should be the main focus of the photo. If you arent sure, please note the group with a link to the deviation in question and we will get back to you ASAP.
:bulletred: No anthros
:bulletred: No caged animals! There is an exception to this rule, being that it must be artistically done, and that is decided by the admins.
:bulletred: No dead animals, unless its an animal feeding on its prey.
:bulletred: If your submission is a traditional piece, you must have some basic knowledge of anatomy.
:bulletred: Work must be your own! Any stolen art work will be removed. If you are uncertain about your image being appropriate, please note =rainylake and ask. Anything that does not abide by these simple rules will be removed from the gallery, and the person will be banned from the group.

Please don't feel discouraged from submitting if you do get declined. We would love to have your work, so just try again with another submission. If you have questions as to why something was declined, please comment on the correspondence message itself, or note the group with a link or thumb to the deviation. This does not guarantee an answer, but you may receive a critique.

Other Questions

I would love to be a bigger part of the club, how can I become a contributor?

Please fill out the questionaire that can be found in this journal and send it to *rainylake. Notes to the group regarding this WILL BE IGNORED

I would love to affiliate, how can I do this?

Please send in a request and it should auto approve. There are no requirements to become an affiliate!

If you have any other questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to send *rainylake a note :)

New! Deviation of the Week

Sun May 12, 2013, 5:14 PM
Hey all. In order to get some activity flowing, =TheGalleryOfEve and I have thought up of something new for the group :la:

We will be posting a poll every week with 5 deviations that have been submitted to the favorites folder. Throughout the week, members will have a chance to vote which is their favorite piece. At the end of the week, the deviation with the most votes will be put into a custom box on the front page, have their work put in the featured folder of the favorites, and have a chance at becoming deviation of the month! The custom box will also include a mini feature of the artists gallery and will be up all week long.

I will be posting the first poll up in a few minutes, so please get ready to vote
